Photograph

I guess this is for photographs I’ve taken. Perhaps this category shouldn’t be here, as I would most likely include said photographs in Posts.

Yesterday while going through my daily RSS feeds via Google Reader, I came across an interesting photography-related article on the DIY Life feed.

Inspired, I took some (poor quality) pictures of dragonflies yesterday. For the past few weeks, at various times throughout the day, dozens have been swarming around outside the window that I face while sitting at my office desk. They remind me of when I was much younger, at Fischer’s Day Care during the summer. My friends and I used to sneak up on them when they would land on the clothesline and catch them by their wings. Rumor was that the ones with “sacks” (for lack of a better word) would bite, so we avoided those. I recall trying to feed them various foilage and being amused by their tiny mouths.

Today is day two and some kind of picture is better than none, as I don’t want to break the chain, so here’s a picture of my office desk.

I’d love to see pictures of your office desk/cube/whatever too!

This afternoon, after returning from lunch, I was surprised to see a deer outside of my office window, munching on the fancy bright green grass that I periodically see the Mexican maintenance guys caring for. A second smaller one appeared shortly thereafter, followed by three more. Although, on a few previous occassions, I’ve spotted deer in this “Hill Country” area of Austin, this sighting was definitely the most intimate. Unfortunately, I was only able to capture three of the five in the picture, and the quality is somewhat poor regarding the color (lacking red, I think). Still, it was an enjoyable experience for a young Cajun man who has yet to see much of what Earth has to offer.
