New Proposal Template

To submit a proposal, create a topic in the Proposals category.

Start strong: choose a good title for your topic.

A successful title immediately tells the reader what your project is. Use descriptive, concise language.

In the body, please address the following questions:

1. What privacy problem are you solving?

Describe the pain point. Which current solutions exist (if any), and what are their shortcomings?

2. What is the solution?

Why is this a good idea? What’s new about what you’re doing? The more details you can include, the better. Where possible, do include sketches, mockups, demos, prototypes, videos, pictures, etc. Help the community visualize what you’re thinking, and get on board with your vision.

3. Which solutions do people resort to because this doesn’t exist yet?

Who are your direct and indirect competitors? Why is your solution better?

4. Who are you?

Introduce the project team members (schools, jobs, projects, github, twitter, blogs, etc.) and include relevant samples of any work you’ve done.

5. Why do you care?

Tell people why you’re passionate about your privacy project and committed to making it happen.

6. What’s your plan? What’s your schedule?

Layout a clear, specific timeline for what community members can expect.

Example format:

Ship Date Deliverable
DD Month, YYYY Take down Big Brother
DD Month, YYYY Clean up the ocean

7. What’s your budget?

A simple breakdown shows you’ve thought things through and have a workable plan. Show the community that they can trust you to use funds wisely. Please request funding in PRV.

Example format:

Resource Cost Quantity Monthly Cost
Visionary X PRV 1 X PRV
Mercenary Y PRV 1 Y PRV
Supermassive net Z PRV 1 Z PRV
TOTAL (x 2 months) 2(X+Y+Z) PRV

8. Is there an existing conversation around this idea?

If yes, please provide the URL(s).

9. Is there anything else you would like the community to know?

Say anything here.
